Visit Bird Aviation & Invention Center where there is a rare collection of restored vintage flying aircrafts and see a tribute of famous inventors that have left their mark on our civilization. Gift shop on site.

 

 

 

 

 

Buck Knives & Cabela’s:

Tour the plant of Buck Knives and see how these famous knives are made by skilled knife makers.  The tour includes a stop at Cabela’s -World’s Foremost Outfitter.

 

 

 

 

 

City Tour

An informative drive through the Fort Sherman area where the City of Coeur d’Alene began and a scenic drive along the north shoreline of Lake Coeur d’Alene.  On the tour we will drive by several buildings and homes that are on the National Register of Historical Places.

 

 

 

 

 

Crystal Gold Mine

At the Crystal Gold Mine, you will be guided through an authentic 1880’s underground gold mine.  The guide will explain how mining was done back in the day and see a gold bearing quartz vein, carbonate crystal, stalactite formations and mining artifacts untouched for over 100 years until the mine was uncovered in 1991.  An area is set up outside the mine where you can try your luck at panning for gold.  (By the way, bring a jacket, the mine is very chilly)

 

       

Coldwater Creek/Litehouse Cheese Factory/Cedar Street Bridge:

We have selected Coldwater, Litehouse, and the Cedar Street Bridge for a start, Sandpoint has a variety of specialty shops for you to explore. Includes lunch at one of Sandpoint's great restaurants.

 

 

 

 

 

Cataldo Mission

The Cataldo Mission is the oldest standing building in Idaho.  The mission was constructed in 1850-1853 by the Catholic Missionaries & members of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe.  The Cataldo Mission provides an educational experience not found anywhere else. Included is the Parish House and historic cemetery.  Visitor’s center and gift shop on site.

 

       

Cooking with Chefs:

Enjoy the experience of hands on cooking with the Chefs at the Greenbriar Inn, a charming Victorian mansion built in 1908.  A two week advance notice is needed.

 

 

 

 

 

Double Barrel Ranch:

Challenge yourself at Double Barrel Ranch with a day of sporting clay pigeons thrown from automatic traps. Advanced arrangements are required.

 

 

 

 

 

Disc Golf:

Enjoy a round of Disc Golf at Farragut State Park. Choice of three separate courses.  Disc golf offers an alternative to the classic game of golf.  Object is to throw a disc similar to a Frisbee at a DIScatcher.  Score cards and discs provided.

 

 

 

 

 

Farragut State Park & Lake Pend Oreille

Relive the glory days of Farragut Naval Station, once the world’s second largest naval training station; currently a State Park.  The tour includes a drive through the park to scenic Bayview, which on on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille,  and a visit to the Brig Museum.

 

       

Fossil Digging:

Enjoy a scenic drive to the Clarkia area at the Fossil Bowl dig site.  Most amazing is that on this site 15,000,000 year old fossil genetic materials have been found.  The leaves and fish at this site are some of the best preserved in the world.

 

 

 

 

 

Garnet Digging:

Idaho and India are the only 2 places in the world that the Star Garnet is found.  Enjoy a scenic drive to Emerald Creek to the dig site where garnets are easily found. Lunch included.

 

 

 

 

 

Greenbriar Inn:

Experience a three course High tea, history and proper table settings.  A tour of the Inn is included.

 

 

 

 

 

Historic Snakepit –Enaville Resort:

A landmark for over 100 years the Enaville Resort is a great place to enjoy lunch. Established in 1880 the resort served as a boomtown bar, railroad layover, hotel, house of ill repute, and starting point for loggers and miners of yesteryear.

 

 

 

 

 

Historical Society Museum:

A self guided visit of the early life of settlers to the Sandpoint area.  Also, a stroll through the museum grounds where the Idaho Native Plants Society maintain a native plant arboretum.

 

 

 

 

 

Historical Unusual and Big Trees of Cd'A:

Join us for a trip through Coeur d’Alene to view the special trees that have historical significance, are unusual for our area or are the biggest of their species.

 

 

 

 

 

Kootenai Wildlife Refuge:

The Kootenai Wildlife Refuge is an 2,774 acre refuge located south of the Canadian border is an important habitat and resting area for migrating waterfowl.  Visitors may see bald eagles, elk, deer, moose, bear and much more.

 

 

 

 

 

Murray - A Living Ghost Town

Murray has interesting history due to the gold rush of 1882.  Characters like Wyatt Earp and Molly B Damn came here seeking fortune.  Spragpole Museum and gravesite of Molly B Damn included.

 

       

Museum of North Idaho:

Discover the rich history of Coeur d’Alene and the region at the Museum of North Idaho.  The museum highlights the history of railroads, steamboats, Forest Service, mining, logging, and lumbering.

 

 

 

 

 

Northern Pacific Depot Museum:

Transport yourself back in time when railroads were the king of transportation.  Exhibits tell the rich history of railroading and mining in the Coeur d’Alene Mining District and of the Northern Pacific Depot itself. Gift shop on site.

 

 

 

 

 

Olive Oil and Wine Tasting:

The Coeur d’Alene Olive Oil Co. offers the highest quality products possible.  Some of the oils include Blood Orange, Roasted Garlic, Persian Lime & Meyer Lemon.  They also do vinegars and specialty products.  We have a variety of places to set up a wine tasting of your choice.

 

 

 

 

 

Oasis Bordello Museum:

A guided tour of the Oasis rooms, a prior brothel, left in its original state.  Tipped off that a raid was about to happen, this brothel was deserted in a moments notice and everything has been preserved just how it was when ladies fled.

 

 

 

 

 

Staff House Museum:

The Staff House Museum in Kellogg has archival research material, period rooms, mineral exhibit, Boy Scout exhibits, Silver Valley mine scale models and more.

 

 

 

 

 

Silver Mountain Gondola Ride:

Silver Mountain Ski Resort runs the gondola in the summer to the top of the mountain for spectacular views and hiking.

 

 

 

 

 

Sierra Silver Mine

Go underground! An experienced miner will guide you as you walk through the main drift of the Sierra Silver Mine. Using exhibits and mining equipment you will learn the historical and modern day techniques used to mine silver, gold, lead, zinc and copper. Tour includes trolley ride to the mine. (Note: Silver mine tour not available October - April)

 

Wine Tasting:

We can set up wine tasting at a variety of wineries in the Coeur d’Alene/Sandpoint/Spokane Area.

 

 

 

 

 

Wolf  People:

People are fascinated by the elusive and mystical wolf.  Come see and learn about the wolves at Wolf People.  This is a Wolf Education Facility.  Gift shop on site.

 

 

 

 

 

Wallace District Mining Museum:

The Wallace District Mining Museum preserves the history of mining and brings it to life through exhibits, archives and a 20 minute video.  Gift shop on site.
